This scholarship fund was established in 2023 to aid in the development of leaders in the chapter and grow Knights of the Legion of Honor, creating productive members of society. This additional scholarship will be granted annually to two active members to fund their attendance at the Lexington Leadership Institute held annually at the National Headquarters of Sigma Nu.
- Limestone- Hopkins, Quarles and Riley met at a limestone outcropping on an October evening in 1868 thus the founding of the Legion of Honor.
- Foundation- Load-bearing part of a structure and the basis or principles of Love, Truth, and Honor.
- Leadership- The action of leading a group of brothers, the Zeta Omicron Chapter and Sigma Nu.
Mission Statement: The objective of the Zeta Omicron Foundation, a private non-operating foundation defined under section 509(a) of the Internal Revenue Code as a 501(c)(3) organization, is to serve as a scholarship fund for the brothers of Zeta Omicron Chapter of Sigma Nu Fraternity, Inc. The income from this fund will be allocated to scholarships for members at the discretion of the foundation board in the form of grants, to brothers/chapter members who meet the criteria outlined below.

Coverage: Zeta Omicron Scholarships are open to Initiated active brothers/ members of the Sigma Nu Fraternity – Zeta Omicron Chapter.
Scholarship Criteria: To qualify for a scholarship the Chapter member must:
- Be in good standing with the Chapter, National Headquarters, and the University
- Be an active member of the fraternity with a Chapter Meeting attendance record of 100%
- Be able to provide sufficient proof of being current on all financial obligations to the chapter for that semester.
- Be able to provide sufficient proof of grades reflecting a 3.0 GPA or higher for that semester.
- Be involved in at least one other University organization outside of Sigma Nu
- It is determined that the chapter member is worthy of a scholarship during an interview with the Foundation Board.
****For the scholarships to be made available to the individual members, the Chapter as a whole must be in good standing with the House Corporation, Nationals, and the University.****
Scholarship Policy: This scholarship will be awarded to two members who wish to become future leaders of the active chapter and who show the potential and desire to lead their brothers.
Disbursement of Scholarships: Scholarships will be presented to the Chapter at a chapter meeting to be determined at a future date.
Application Requirements: Completed packets for the Summer 2025 Scholarship must be received no later than September 7, 2023. The following should be sent in one complete packet to Marshall Tullos:
- Completed Application for Scholarship Form including an official transcript or grade report.
- Essay explaining why you should receive the Leadership Award. Essay should reflect what the applicant has done to better the chapter, and themselves. The essay is intended to give the board a better understanding of the applicant to help determine applicants worthy of the scholarship.
- A letter of recommendation from the current Eminent Commander and/or the Alumni Advisor and/or an active member will be required (provide as many letters of recommendation as you would like).
- Make sure to send the package in one attachment in PDF form. The attachment should be labeled with the applicant’s name. Example – (First & Last Name – Limestone Leasership Award Application – 2025.
