This scholarship fund was established in 2007 after Brother Richard “Dickie” Jordan; Z.O. 070 passed away and generously donated approximately $400,000 to Zeta Omicron. Brother Dickie specified that his donation should be set up as a scholarship fund for members of Sigma Nu at Zeta Omicron.
Mission Statement: The objective of the Zeta Omicron Foundation, a private non-operating foundation defined under section 509(a) of the Internal Revenue Code as a 501(c)(3) organization, is to serve as a scholarship fund for the brothers of Zeta Omicron Chapter of Sigma Nu Fraternity, Inc. The income from this fund will be allocated to scholarships for members at the discretion of the foundation board in the form of grants, to brothers/chapter members who meet the criteria outlined below.

Coverage: Zeta Omicron Scholarships are open to all active brothers/members of the Sigma Nu Fraternity – Zeta Omicron Chapter.
Scholarship Criteria: To qualify for a scholarship the Chapter Member must:
- Be in good standing with the Chapter, National Headquarters, and the University
- Be an active member of the fraternity with a Chapter Meeting attendance record of 100%
- Be able to provide sufficient proof of being current on all financial obligations to the chapter for that semester.
- Be able to provide sufficient proof of grades reflecting a 3.25 GPA or higher for that semester.
- Be involved in at least one other University organization outside of Sigma Nu
- It is determined that the chapter member is worthy of a scholarship during an interview with the Foundation Board.
- Letter of Recommendation from a professor or faculty member of the university.
****For the scholarships to be made available to the individual members, the Chapter as a whole must be in good standing with the House Corporation, Nationals, and the University.****
Scholarship Policy: For each applicable semester, a scholarship(s) will be awarded to chapter members who meet the scholarship criteria detailed above. In addition, the Board of Directors may choose to award a Ray Woody Honor Pledge Scholarship which will be given to a candidate with the highest grades during their pledge semester.
Disbursement of Scholarships: Scholarships will be presented to the Chapter at chapter meeting to be determined at a future date.
Application Requirements: Complete packets for the Fall 2026 Scholarship must be received no later than February 8, 2026. The following should be sent in one complete packet to Marshall Tullos:
- Completed Application for Scholarship Form including an official transcript or grade report.
- Essay explaining why you should receive a Scholarship. Essay should reflect what the applicant has done to better the chapter, and themselves. The essay is intended to give the board a better understanding of the applicant to help determine applicants worthy of the scholarship.
- A letter of recommendation is required. Must be from a professor or faculty member. (Provide as many letters of recommendation as you would like.)
- Make sure to send the package in one attachment in PDF form. The attachment should be labeled with the applicant’s name. Example – (First & Last Name) Fall 2026 Scholarship Application.
